Times Art Center Berlin presents the group show ANGST, KEINE ANGST / 畏无所畏 / FEAR, NO FEAR. Initiated by Huang Xiaopeng, and co-curated by Dorothee Albrecht, Antje Majewski, and Stefan Rummel, the project focuses on the present global state of collective fear and anxiety. It will unfold in three chapters, both online and offline, from April 7 till July 17, 2021.

FEAR, NO FEAR explores the broad spectrum of fears that have emerged in different geographical, historical and contemporary contexts. The curatorial team invited artists across generations, from the 1960s to the 1990s, to present their works with the artistic media spanning sculpture, installation, video, performance, painting and photography. The artists of diverse international backgrounds are predominately based in Berlin, as well as Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Wuhan, Hangzhou and the Pearl River Delta; one young performance artist is based in Yaoundé. Through the lens of these perspectives, the artist-curators, together with the exhibiting artists, seek to understand our present era.

The first chapter of the exhibition is set up for the scheduled digital opening on April 7, and will be open to the public as of then, subject to regulations in force.

As an extension of the project, an online publication will accompany ANGST, KEINE ANGST / 畏无所畏 / FEAR, NO FEAR with performances and screenings throughout the exhibition period.
