One Place to the Other, the Other to the One Before (Shipai Village, Guangzhou)

October 29, 2009

Action, video documentation, 26’57”

This work was shot in an urban village in Guangzhou. The traditional area, which had developed organically with tiny alleys and buildings, will disappear within a few years because of urban gentrification. A self-employed courier was asked to bring many empty boxes from one gate to the other gate then back to the original gate.
